A motivational story about the Iranian Scientist and entrepreneur Shahin Gavanji.

Shahin Gavanji was born into a middle-class family in Isfahan. As a child, he was a very curious boy, always telling his mother that he wanted to become a scientist and make discoveries. At the age of four, he became very interested in discovering the secrets of nature. He would look at the stars every night and was interested in knowing the names and characteristics of the stars. His parents patiently answered his questions and encouraged him to do various activities to discover his interests. Shahin was very interested in doing innovative and non-repetitive activities. By the time he turned nine, Shahin had a small notebook that he considered his discovery notebook, in which he would draw new devices to solve the problems of the people of the world.  One of his important characteristics was the ability to design and examine his ideas in his mind, and he could visualize the prototype of the invention in his mind.

Shahin continued his creative efforts and activities, successfully registering several inventions. At the age of 19, he went to Nuremberg, Germany, at the invitation of the World Invention Competition, where he presented his research project at a global forum and won a medal from the competition.

Shahin always says, "Success does not come easy. To be successful in life, you must learn to get up again after every failure and resume your efforts. It does not matter how many times you fail, what matters is that you get up every time and do not let failure get in your way. There will be times in your life when people tell you that you can’t or won’t accomplish something. When they do, keep my sentence in mind " To be successful you don't need to be very strong, you just need to be stronger than one thing: your biggest excuse ".

Mr. Gavanji conducts extensive research in the field of anti-cancer drugs and antimicrobial compounds and has published numerous articles in prestigious scientific journals and selected as the Best Young Inventor of the Year of Iran (among all young Iranian inventors), furthermore, he won the Best Young Scientist Award of Iran from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. His scientific efforts are very impressive, as he has won various awards over the years from different countries, including the IWIS Global Prize from Poland, the Global Innovation Award from the UK, the Grand Prix Prize in Russia, the Tesla Medal from Serbia, Special award from Taiwan inventor association, WIPPA Special Award, Special medal of the Polytechnic University of Romania and special medal from China Association of inventions (CAI).

Mr. Gavanji has been successful in both establishing an organization and employing many young people. He is the founder and managing director of the Traditional Medicine Research Institute and the Salamat Giyah Espadana Institute, which conducts extensive research into the production of new antimicrobial drugs and compounds.

He always says, "Success is not possible without effort. Effort and self-confidence are like a map and compass that guides us towards the goal and our desired destination." In other words, being willing and open to all possibilities can help you be more original and innovative when proposing and applying theories".

Today Shahin Gavanji is a well-known scientist in Iran and notable figure of the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS) in the Netherlands and serves as President of the WAMS Council of Asia.
